Volunteer at Pinehurst

Volunteers play a key role in enriching the lives and education of our students. There are many ways we can put your talents to work!

We Love Our Volunteers!

Pinehurst School thrives because of the time and energy our families and community members give freely. Our small school depends on collaborative volunteer efforts to support the enrichment activities and programs that make Pinehurst special.

Why Volunteer?

Our school is a vital part of this community. You add to the vitality when you share your time and skills, building connections and making a positive difference in the lives of our students!

When you volunteer, you. . .
  • Enable student enrichment activities and programs
  • Contribute your personal skills in a meaningful way
  • Provide individual academic support to expand student learning
  • Build lasting relationships with our school community

Getting Started

All volunteers must complete two forms before their first visit:
  1. Background Check Authorization Form — required for all volunteers. Please allow two weeks for processing.
  2. Volunteer Application — tells us about your interests, availability, and experience so we can match you with the right opportunities.
Both forms are available below.  Contact John at the school office or call 541-482-1910 if you have questions.

Volunteer of the Year

Each year Pinehurst honors a community member who has gone above and beyond for our students:

  • 2026: Ben Pellow — Science Explorer Club leader
  • 2025: Barbara McHugh - Summer Learning Program Culinary Arts Instructor
  • 2024: Deb Evans - Interim District Administrator/Ceramics Instructor
