Library Aid

Books have always been an important part of my life, and I love to read! I grew up in the small mountain town of Crestline, California. As a youngster, I looked forward to weekly visits with my mom to our community library, where a world of knowledge and exploration awaited me. I moved to San Diego as an adult, where I met my husband, and we moved to the Greensprings in 2000. It instantly felt like home and indeed is very much like where I grew up.

I earned bachelor’s degrees in environmental studies and geography, and a master’s degree in geography with an emphasis in biogeography. My primary career was as a field biologist, GIS analyst, and project manager, but I have worked a variety of jobs, from baking at a coffee house to teaching high school and college. The common thread throughout all my pursuits has been in support of community, education, and creating a healthy, sustainable natural environment. I’m excited to now be associated with Pinehurst School as the library aid, working with young people who are just starting out in their life’s adventures.

Outside of school and work, I enjoy gardening, quilting, reading, camping, hiking, a variety of artistic pursuits, and most importantly, enjoying life with family, friends, and a myriad of adored pets.

I hope to help foster a love for reading among the students at Pinehurst, and to encourage growth, compassion, and a deep sense of curiosity. I believe our small, tight-knit mountain school is a unique treasure that provides students with educational opportunities that are beyond compare. I know that my own life will be enriched by the time I get to spend with them!
